Cookie Policy

What VeloKompass stores in your browser, why we do it, and how you can manage or delete it.

Last updated: July 25, 2026

No tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or remarketing cookies.

Minimal storage

Only one local storage entry remembers your cookie-banner choice.

You’re in control

You can accept, decline or clear storage anytime in your browser settings.

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device via your browser. Local storage is a similar browser technology that allows a website to save small amounts of data locally on your device. Both can be used to recognise your browser on subsequent visits or to remember preferences.

Cookies and local storage entries cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your device. They only store the information the website places there.

2. What We Use – and What We Don’t

This website deliberately keeps data storage to an absolute minimum:

Name Type Purpose Duration
cookieConsent Local storage
(technically necessary)
Remembers whether you accepted or declined the cookie notice, so it is not shown on every visit. Until deleted by you

We do not use:

  • analytics or statistics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • advertising or remarketing cookies
  • social media tracking pixels
  • cross-site or fingerprinting technologies

3. Legal Basis

The storage of the technically necessary entry described above is based on § 25(2) No. 2 of the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. It is strictly required to provide the functionality you requested (not repeatedly displaying the notice) and stores no personal data beyond your yes/no choice.

4. Third-Party Content

To display this website, fonts and the stylesheet framework are loaded from third-party servers (Google Fonts, Tailwind CSS CDN). These requests transmit your IP address to the respective provider but set no tracking cookies on our behalf.

Details can be found in our Privacy Policy (section on external services).

5. How to Manage or Delete Stored Data

You can view, block and delete cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings:

Chrome

Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data

Firefox

Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data

Safari

Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Edge

Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Deleting the entry simply means the cookie notice will be displayed again on your next visit. All functions of this website work fully even if you decline.

7. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if our practices or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the latest version took effect. Please review this page periodically.
